Greetings,

I'm hoping this is an easy question with a simple answer:  I am able to get the daily archive log of my data but I'd like to log the interior and exterior temperatures at a 5 (or maybe 1) minute interval and export that to a CSV.

I see the CSV export plugin, but I'm unable to figure out how to get the LOOP packets.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Thom K.

Hi,

I assume you refer to the CSV service (https://github.com/weewx/weewx/wiki/csv)? If so the default install configuration is to use loop data. Again assuming you have installed the service what results are you getting? Also, what weather station are you using?

Greetings,

Thank you for the quick response: I did install the CSV service and it appears to be working pretty well.  I'm using the Acurite 5-in-1 weather station.  Weewx works wonderfully with the PWS site.  Looking at the CSV output, there's a couple of odd things.

Some of the fields don't seem to be mapping correctly.

  • altimeter appears to be barometer.
  • InDewpoint and inTemp seem to be the same.
  • maxSolarRad is reporting an additional data point or two like pressure?
  • outTempBatteryStatus seems to be a combination of the exterior temperature and the battery status.
  • rainRate seems to be pulling from whatever's in altimeter.
  • windGustDir & windSpeed both seem to have the exterior temperature in them.
Once again, thank you for any assistance.  If there's somewhere I should be looking for the answer, I'll be happy to research that.

Thanks again!

OK, the Acurite stations are partial packet stations so getting only a few obs in each packet is normal behaviour. Clearly though there are some obviously wrong values appearing in your CSV output. Let's take a step back and see if we can work out what is going on, here are a few things to do:

1. So we are clear on your setup can you post a copy of your weewx.conf file, or better still post a copy of a wee_debug report. Either way make sure you check what you post for any sensitive info eg passwords, usernames etc and remove them before posting - wee_debug will attempt to obfuscate them but it is not perfect.

2. Run weeWX directly for a couple of archive periods. This will cause the loop packet and archive record contents to be displayed on screen, post the output here. That way we can see whether the csv extension is having some issues or if the problem is elsewhere.

3. Post the csv output that corresponds with the loop packets and archive records from when you ran weeWX directly, even though the packets/records are displayed on screen the csv extension will still be generating its output.

Ok.... I thought I posted a reply but I can't seem to find any record of it.

Attached are the files that I believe you're looking for.  Hopefully they will shed some light on what's happening.

Once again, I appreciate all of the effort!

Thank you,
Thom K.
