Is your WiFi network too new? The manual mentions only mode 802.11b only
so it wont connect to newer WiFi APs probably.

Note1: The Wi-Fi chip equipped on this console supports 802.11b mode
with 2.0 MHz CLK rate. Thus, some latest Wi-Fi routers or AP has to be
manually turned on 802.11b mode and even need to enable the latency mode to
host this device.

They only mention one router there, but could be more maybe? I only know
recent routers that can do 802.11g (which is still a few years younger)
in legacy mode.
Maybe a phone can do that still with the Hotspot function?
