I'm looking to upgrade from my Fineoffset WH1081-PC which has shown some issues recently with the fousb connection to both my PC and Raspberry Pi.  I am currently running weewx via an SDR and rtl_433, far from optimal as I can't get barometer or internal temperature.

I'd like some cost effective solutions for a replacement with a budget of say NZ$300 (currently ~US$190) that will allow me a reasonably sound connection to a Raspberry Pi4 (4GHz model).

Thanks for any input :-)

I have two weather stations: TFA Opus which I'm quite happy with, the only downside is having to change batteries often but after I connected the console to a phone charger this isn't so much of an issue, the thermo-hygro sensor batteries last much longer.

The other is AcuRite 01036 and I'm not one bit happy with it because there are constant spikes in the readings of temperature and rain.

I have a WH1080 running with an RPi2. Purchased an Ecowitt system to replace it, with both HP2551 display and a GW1000. Bought extra sensors (outdoor temp + humidity, 3x indoor temp and humidity, 1x soil moisture). You don't need an RPi4. It runs hot and is overpowered for what you need. A Pi2 uses much less power and you can pick one up 2nd hand for cheap. My only complaint, and it's not really a complaint, more a matter of aesthetics, is that the soil moisture reading on the HP2551 spoils the symmetry of the display, so much so that I decided not to bother with it (it was an experiment anyway). You can get some useful background info on Ecowitt and rebranded and other alternatives at wxforum.net

Fine Offset's latest offerings are an excellent choice. They are offered in two or three wing models, and are electrically identical. I have several of the three wing WH-2900.
Add a GW-1000 and you'll have an economical setup with excellent performance.
I've found the GW-1000 connecting with weewx to be trouble free. The GW-1000 includes a barometer and internal temp & humidity.
It's called Ambient WS-2902 in the US and you'll find a lot of help and ideas in wxforum.net
Good luck!

There are many postings in this Forum regarding this subject (some of mine included, which you may check for more detail).

My vote is for WeatherFlow... great price/performance and NO moving parts.
