When looking at the Ecowitt Gateway (formerly GW1000) Driver readme, it mentions

"You may wish to refer to the GW1000 driver wiki for further guidance on customising the operation of the Ecowitt Gateway driver and integrating gateway device data into WeeWX-generated reports."

Currently, that hyperlink points to a 404. I've done some digging, and it looks like the wiki links weren't updated/the wiki wasn't brought over during a maintainer/username change.

There is a GitHub PR that seems to change the link, among other readme link changes. That PR doesn't seem to fix the issue.

So, is there a location for the functioning Ecowitt Gateway Driver wiki or documentation?

It would be easier to just ask whatever questions you need to ask.  There are many users of this old driver and many posts over the years so it's likely multiple people can answer whatever you need answering.

Unfortunately the original author went offline and deleted all his repos and wikis before folks got a chance to capture the original information for many of his repos.

Ahh, that's unfortunate.

Initially, I was looking for basics/necessary configuration info - but I dug into the driver file to find that (ip, poll rate, etc.) I got it working based on that.

It would be nice to know what other configuration options are available, and if there are any that are particularly useful configuration options.

Unless you have very recent somewhat exotic sensors, it just kinda works right out of the box.  I've attached my more complicated ecowitt stanza for reference including how to test what the driver emits.  All my sensors fortunately are supported by the gw1000 driver.

Another way to get ecowitt into weewx is to emit MQTT from your gateway to a MQTT broker you run locally and then use the weewx MQTTSubscribe extension as a driver.  Mapping the db elements there is a little more complicated.

Lots of ways to get there including a couple alternate drivers. There are lots of threads here on how to do it if you search the forums for 'ecowitt'.
