I saw notice today of a Alma Linux (CentOS alternative) release for raspberry pi today so I decided to give it a try on a pi4.  Looks like CentOS to me.

The weewx procedures for setup.py seems to work ok so far with a couple issues:

 - python3-cheetah requires installing epel-release to add the EPEL repos
 - I see some permission issues related to starting the daemon from systemctl

I didn't devote a lot of time to working the permissions issues above but might fiddle as I find time.  FWIW, it's not selinux (I set that to permissive for now just in case).

FWIW - sure seeeeeems quick to me interactively.

There are a few manual steps required to get wifi enabled and expand the root filesystem which RaspiOS makes much easier, but just follow the docs at https://github.com/AlmaLinux/raspberry-pi/ for how to do that.

One caveat - ssh in as root is enabled 'and' the os has a well known default root password, so you definitely want to harden your system as part of setting it up as your first step.

But that said, sure looks like CentOS to me for those who come from a RedHat background......
