After installing the windy.com extension I get a "No module named 'distutils' error message"

Hi everyone,

I just installed weewx v5.1.0 and also installed the windy.com extension from https://github.com/matthewwall/weewx-windy

After successfully installing the extension, weewx fails to start with the following error message: ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'distutils'

I've logged an issue in github for it but it appears that the project might be dead since the last commits to it were 5 years ago. Can someone suggest a workaround if possible please?
