What do I need to keep in mind if I want to install the new version of Belchertown alongside (i.e., at the same time as) the original version 1.3.1?

You should keep in mind that if you use the installer script, New Belchertown will upgrade your existing Belchertown installation in place. If you want to make sure it doesn't get overwritten, rename it in weewx.conf first.
