Hi!

My old Davis ISS has to be replaced. It is talking to and old Vantage Pro (1) Console.
The new ISS is not compatible with the old Vantage Pro, so i'm going to buy a new Vantage Pro 2 as well.
... Next thing is that the USB datalogger is not compatible (does it ever stop?)

Question... Do I need the data logger to communicatie with WEEWX? (it comes with Wheatherlink software.. which i don't use)

Does anyone have any advice for me?

Thanks
Marc

Yes - you need something connected to the console typically, unless you try to do it via some wireless method.

My recollection is that there have been reports that Davis might help you out re: the datalogger compatibility between models.   They're always pretty nice on the phone.  Maybe if you called them and explained the problem they'd do something to help you out there re: compatibility especially since you're buying a new VP2.

I have an Older Vantage Pro 2 console connected via an USB cable to RPI running the latest weewx without any issues.

Do you mean "I have a weatherlink USB plugged into the VP2 console,
which has a USB jack, and I have a USB cable plugged into that?"

If not, and if not "belfryboy logger", etc., I too am curious what you are doing.
