I'm setting up weewx 3.71 for the first time.  Running on mac OS 10.13.1 (High Sierra).  I'm connecting to a Vantage Pro 2 thru the WeatherLinkIP ethernet interface.  Seems to be working OK, but I am getting Wind Speed in MPH although the Davis console display is set to read in Knots.  I changed the skin.conf groups to knots, restarted but no change.

Is the Vantage Pro 2 actually outputting MPH through the enet interface but displaying Knots on the console?  We have about 1 knot of breeze here, so I can't tell the difference.

Should I be changing something else in one of the conf files?

Hi,

I am getting Wind Speed in MPH

By this I presume you mean the output in the weeWX Standard skin generated html files. The console, and weeWX, will be receiving wind speed in MPH. Unless you have specifically changed your database units, weeWX will record MPH in its database. The console will display whatever units you set it to display. To display knots in the weeWX Standard skin generated output you can simply change the group_speed config option in the Standard skin skin.conf file, though it is likely this is being overriden in weewx.conf. Have a look at the [StdReport] stanza in weewx.conf. Does it have a group_speed config option, if so is it set to mile_per_hour? If so that will be overriding anything you put in skin.conf. Just change the group_speed option in weewx.conf to knot and save weewx.conf. You will need to do a config reload or stop/start weeWX for the change to take effect.

Good info.  I didn't see the weewx.conf section on standard reports.  I changed that to knot and knot2 and that changed the units reported in the left side text report, but the Cheetah graphic for windspeed / gust speed and the graphic for wind vector are still labeled MPH

Did you stop/restart weewx, and wait for the next archive interval (to recreate the graphs) after changing the settings in weewx.conf??

SOLVED.  I did not notice that the png images where not being regenerated.  Stuck at 3 pm this afternoon.  I was playing around with the anti_alias setting in skin.conf.  I tried changing from 1 to 2 and didn't like it so I set it to 0 to see if that was different.  That apparently killed the Cheetah report generation of png completely and I didn't notice the time stamp had stopped.  Reset it to 1 and all png are current and in knots now.
