Hi, I am about to change my router and my internet provider.
My Raspberry Pi (this is where my weewx installation is) is currently conneted vai LAN cabkle to my current router.
Will it be enough to just unplug the network cable from old router and plug in to the new router or are there some other things which I need to take care of.
Regards
Mark

Mark,

I cannot say for sure, but from my experience in the past, the router
and modem just provide a path to the  internet and you should be fine.
The configuration of computers and other internet  using devices, along
with local area network devices should be the same, but  you will have
to at least go through the general settings on your new router to make
sure that the settings are similar to what  you  currently have configured.

The one thing that the overall change may be sensitive to is the opening
of ports, if  you did that at all, to the outside world. Otherwise I'm
guessing  you'll be unaware of the change.  I am speaking from a similar
situation a couple years ago and not much has changed for ordinary
users.  Very complex set  ups with alternative domain name servers,
ports open to the outside world and such (which most casual users don't
need to worry about) would be a different story.

I would anticipate your email program (I use Thunderbird) or whatever
you use if it isn't all web based, will need permission changes to be
able to send email.

It depends if you set a static IP or not, BUT the current version of raspi-config doesn't seem to have an ethernet configuration section, only WLAN.

We can't answer that.  Your new provider has all the information you'll need for how to install their router and connect your gear to their service.

Weewx itself doesn't care which provider you have, nor even if you have any provider at all.
