weewx loses connection to router

I recently replaced my routers with a mesh system and now weewx (on pi) often loses connection. It was connected via Wifi, so I added an ethernet cable connection as well, but it still happens. In any case, I decided to add a daily reboot crontab. Is it safe just to reboot or should I stop the weewx service before rebooting? 

My crontab skills are a bit rusty, how would I stop the service in the crontab?
