La Crosse C86234 (Costco) LCD Question

Hello All- I thought this might be a good place to ask. I came home from work and looked at the LCD panel for my Weather Station. I have a La Crosse C86234 that I purchased from Costco. Anyways, on the screen near the Wind sensor section there is an icon of a battery and it says RX on it. I've never seen this lit before. I read the whole manual, but did not find anything about it. Does anyone know what it is for?

I would hazard a GUESS that your receiver (RX) battery is running low ie the console battery needs changing.

My WS-2800 (actually a TFA Primus) had the same symbol. Wasn't mentioned in my manual either.

I mailed the to Primus and they replied that the battery of the receiver was running low.

Changed batteries and the icon went away.

And it probably does the same but with TX instead of RX when the transmitter battery needs changing (if it is a wireless station) .....

weewx tracks the battery status of each component as follows:

windBatteryStatus - battery in anemometer (solar powered in most units)
rainBatteryStatus - battery in rain collector
outTempBatteryStatus - battery in thermo/hygro unit
inTempBatteryStatus - battery in console
rxCheckPercent - link quality between transceiver and console

these are included in each LOOP packet, and they are in the default weewx archive schema.

do a query in your archive database to see if inTempBatteryStatus correlates with what you saw on the console display.

fwiw, the exfoliation skin includes a 'station' page that displays these data.
