Hi,

I got myself a PiSense -Hat for my rapsberry, and cloned the BM280 extension to do the same kind of job.
ie :
  - Read pressure, temp, humidity

Maybe magento/accelero, but I am not sure it is relevant to weewx and has storage space in the archive table.

Is that kind of device of interest for weewx? An I should try to make a proper extension from it (with setup and all)?

Regards,

Hi,
I developed a small driver for the Build Your Own Weather Station with a Raspberry Pi a while back, it has code to read pressure, temp and humidity from the BM280 sensor in case you want to take a look: https://github.com/jardiamj/BYOWS_RPi/blob/master/byows_rpi.py

It's not perfect and unfortunately I don't have the hardware for testing everything but I has worked well for other people.

Best regards,

Jardi.

"bme280" and "Weather Station": this can only be some kind of "proof of concept" since the bme280 isn't suitable as a sensor for all conditions: in it's datasheet there is clear information that the bme280 is only suitable for "non condensing" conditions. In reality the sensor is not working in conditions below freezing with a relative humidity of ~80% and more. With "not working" I mean the readings are significantly unstable and with "jumps" of several degree from one sample to the following.  If the bme280 is installed in the indoor unit to measure inTemp, inHumidity and pressure, that should be OK.

No weather station specialist here. Just hobbyist taking this as an opportunity to write some code, using the pi-sense indoor in non-condensing conditions. I do not see why suitable to use in any condition is a requirement for having a proper measurement.

But I did not care reading the full spec sheets of the LPS22HBTR or the SHTC3. They seem to provide "good enough" values for my need.

If anyone can find some use of this the code, it will be available.
