get the temperature on icone smartphone header

Hello,

i would like to create a application that can display the temperature en my smartphone on the" header icon" (where the time and level of the batery is ).

first i would like to catch the outside temperature and copy it in a file (like outsidetemp.txt),  and after try to do the application.

Do you thinks this project is possible to do?
