Hi All,

I was supposed to post this on Sunday. Just couldn’t find time to have a
read through and draft my input for "International Services" .

Our little master is almost on his toes now - Crawling, trying to climb up
and still cannot figure out how to sit down after standing..... :)

Rotarians participate in activities to improve the lives and living
conditions of others and to promote international understanding and
goodwill.

I have seen and heard clubs participating in almost every service listed
below.

Volunteers working to support aid programs
Donating goods and services
Disease control
Financial support

This program gives Rotarians and their families the opportunity to host and
visit Rotarians around the world. We met a young Rotarian from India last
week and she has visited almost 4 different countries within the age of 20.
Its amazing to see how fortunate she was to travel around the world through
Rotary. She later became a president of Rotaract club in Mumbai (North
India) She is settled with her partner in Perth recently and looking forward
to join Rotary and contribute her service as much as she can....... This
did impress me to host a student in future :)

Many Thanks,
Kind Regards
Sony

Dear eClubbers,

Sorry, I missed this post.

According to me International Service is the heart of Rotary. International Service gives us the End Polio campaign as well as Matching Grants. Through both this programs we deliver such outstanding humanitarian work that we are able to reduce mortality rates in children and give a better life to the underprivileged. Rotary's intervention through its Polio campaign has helped reduce polio cases by more than 95% worldwide. This has been the greatest success of Rotary and mankind against any crippling diseases after smallpox. Matching grants is another success story which bridges continents and serves the community. This project sees Rotary work in the community doing a needs analysis and then getting funds from an international partner to bridge the needs gap. The involvement of local Rotary members and International Rotarians helps us build our fellowship. It also helps us develop an understanding of the problems faced in different communities thereby fostering International good will and peace.

Yours In Rotary,

Bharat

"W hy are we all in Rotary? I believe we are here because we care, and because we see both what’s wrong in the world, and what’s right. And we want to carry forward what’s good, build on it, expand on it, help it grow – while taking a hard look at what needs to be changed in our lives and then doing what we can to change it."
RI President Kalyan Banerjee
