Registration for one of Cincinnati's craziest events is now open! Presented by The Kroger Company and produced by 3CDC, Cinciditarod is a wacky shopping cart competition that begins and ends on Fountain Square. Coined after the real Alaskan Iditarod, which involves a grueling 1,100 mile dog sled race, the Cincinnati version is a little less intensive and a lot more inventive.

So what exactly is Cinciditarod? Teams must make their way through a five mile course that spans across downtown Cincinnati--all while remaining physically attached to decorated shopping carts. But that's not all! Participants must also collect items provided on their grocery lists, as well as compete in a series of challenges located at five pre-selected checkpoints.

Each team must consist of no more than five people, and all members must be at least 21 years of age in order to participate. The cost to register is $75 per team and all registration forms must be completed by Friday, February 22 at 5 p.m. For more information, including the registration form and race guidelines, visithttp://www.myfountainsqu…

Finally, if you don't wish to compete but would still like to be involved, we also have numerous volunteer opportunities available. Interested? Then please contact Christy Samad at csa...@3cdc.org

The race will be held at Fountain Square on Saturday, March 2. Check-in begins at 10:30 a.m. and the race begins at noon. All of the grocery items from the event will be donated to the Freestore Foodbank. A special thanks to our presenting sponsor, Kroger!
