Accordingto UEFA, the European confederation commissioned Britten to compose an anthem based on a 1727 song by George Frideric Handel called Zadok the Priest, which was originally written for the coronation of King George II. Zadok the Priest has been performed prior to the anointing at the coronation of every British monarch since its composition and has become a British patriotic symbol.

"There's a rising string phase which I pinched from Handel and then I wrote my own tune," said Britten in 2018 during an interview with a local publication in his hometown of Croydon. "It has a kind of Handelian feel to it, but I like to think it's not a total rip-off."

UEFA explains that the song was meant to piggyback off the popularity of The Three Tenors after their performance prior to the 1990 FIFA World Cup final in Rome, Italy. A recording of the performance, watched by approximately 800 million people, became the best-selling classical album of all time.

Each verse has one line in each language, with the lyrics highlighting the "best teams," clearly the tournament's main point of separation. It's a nod to the yearly qualification process that sees only the top clubs from the various leagues partake in the Champions League.

While many fans relish the occasion to take in the Champions League anthem, some sets of supporters instead take the opportunity to voice their dissatisfaction with the competition, the organizers, or other various related issues.

Man City fans famously boo the Champions League anthem in every match the club plays in. Supporters take issue with a situation from 2011 when Man City striker Mario Balotelli was racially abused by Porto fans.

City supporters were further enraged when, in 2014, UEFA punished CSKA Moscow for racial abuse. The punishment, handed down just three weeks before City were scheduled to play an away match against the Russian club, included a closed stadium. That left numerous City supporters with tickets, flights, and hotels already booked.

Man City fans showed up anyways, hoping to get in, and were turned away, despite the fact some CSKA Moscow fans were able to enter the stadium wearing different colors. UEFA did not punish CSKA Moscow further for the circumvention of the punishment.

It got even worse for City fans when the exact opposite happened two years later. In December, 2016, Man City were scheduled to play Dynamo Kyiv in Champions League play. Dynamo Kyiv were serving a stadium ban for the match, but three weeks prior to the scheduled game, UEFA overturned the ban, leaving many Man City fans with too little time to book a trip.

Barcelona is located in the Spanish autonomous community of Catalonia, which has seen growing support for independence over the last two decades. In 2016, the club looked to support this movement by handing out 30,000 Estelada flags to fans entering the match.

I dont understand why you would remove this! some of us playing game like a simulation rather than arcade... enough with this arcade attitude we are also paying for the game every year and you are removing things that is realistic and good - let people skip it if they don't like it. what's the point of getting all the rights if you will not make our game feel like a real champions league game?!

In this single player adventure, venture into the idyllic but treacherous world of the Freljord as Nunu, a young boy on a quest to find his lost mother. Unearth the secrets, myths, and legends buried deep in the frozen tundra alongside your best friend, a wise and playful yeti named Willump, and unfold an inspiring story one puzzle at a time.[1]

In the harsh lands of the Freljord, a young Notai boy named Nunu trudges through a ferocious blizzard in search of his best friend, a yeti named Willump. He finds him collapsed in the snow and tries to help his friend up, but the ice witch Lissandra appears before them. Three days ago, Nunu wakes up in a cave, having dreamt about his long-lost mother, Layka. Guided by half-forgotten dreams, Nunu and Willump search for the Heart of the Blue, a mysterious artifact said to reside in the Winged Mountain, which is the key to finding Layka. As they make their way towards the Winged Mountain, the duo gets attacked by a pack of ice wolves. While they manage to repel the pack, Nunu notes that they were covered in an odd purple ice. They eventually find themselves in a cave filled with True Ice, the strongest substance in the Freljord, with a statue of Anivia at the center. However, the statue is partially covered in Dark Ice, True Ice that has been corrupted by the Void. They manage to purify it by letting light into the chamber, unlocking a passage, and the two venture forth.

After some more traveling, the two set up camp for the night. Nunu plays a song he has been working on, and the two dance. Nights like these remind him of the time he spent with his mom. When he goes to sleep, Nunu has a dream about time she told him about the Heart of Blue. Unbeknownst to him, a dark figure observes them in the distance. Layka explains that it is a weapon of sorts, like a campfire, it battles the dark and the cold with warmth and light. As he continues to dream, he remembers the night their caravan was attacked, the night they got separated. He tries to chase after her, but can only hear her telling him to find the Heart of the Blue.

Meanwhile, at the Frostguard Citadel, Lissandra awakes from peering into Nunu's dreams. She learns that he is searching for something called the Heart of Blue and is certain it is connected to the yetis' greatest ability: the power to create True Ice. She is seeking True Ice to fortify the walls she built millennia ago, the one she used to seal away her oldest enemy, the Void. If the ice were to ever thaw, the Void would unleash untold horrors upon Runeterra.

When Nunu wakes, he finds himself surrounded by a pack of ice wolves and Willump missing. Willump quickly finds Nunu and tells him that he was sleepwalking. As more wolves arrive, the two are saved by Braum, a hero of the Freljord. They tell him about their quest to find the Heart of the Blue, and while he has never heard of it, he shows them the way to the Winged Mountain. When they arrive at the base of the mountain, they see it being ravaged by a great blizzard. Braum suggests they make hero stew, one of his mother's recipes, while they think of a way to pass through the storm. Braum goes off to gather the ingredients and tasks Nunu & Willump to find a cauldron.

As they search for a cauldron, they come across an abandoned Notai camp. While exploring the camp, they find a giant spade embedded in the ground. When they examine it, the spade teleports them into a cave. The duo ventures further into the cave, drawn to the sound of hammering, and soon realizes they are in Hearth-Home, the home of Ornn, the Forge God. They try to get the Forge God's attention, but he isn't fond of visitors. Nunu quickly wins him over by praising his craftsmanship, while Ornn recognizes the spark of Anivia, his sister, within the boy. They ask him for one of his cauldrons, but Ornn refuses, instead, he offers to make them one. After restarting his forge, Ornn sends Nunu & Willump to gather the components for the cauldrom: a Jurlberry fruit, known only to grow inside strongholds, and an offerring from the Kellurel, a creature that resides in the Ice Garden.

They use the spade to return to the outside and head into an abandoned stronghold to search for a Jurlberry. As they traverse the stronghold, they learn that it was once a fortress built during the War of the Three Sisters centuries ago. As they approach the Jurlberry, they are attacked by elementals, but Willump channels his power and freezes them. After collecting the Jurlberry, they enter the Ice Garden, a maze of True Ice animals, to find the Kellurel, a giant deer made of True Ice that reigns over the Ice Garden. They gain an offering from the Kellurel, a tear, after they fix its legs.

The two return to Ornn's forge and give him the tear and the Jurlberry. The Forge God promptly eats the fruit and notes that the Kellurel sensed the same thing he did, as he begins work on their cauldron. After finishing the cauldron, Ornn asks the two to leave but leaves them with the parting: even when things seem dark, all you need is the smallest spark to light the way. They return to Braum and set up camp for the night, dining on his stew. Nunu recounts their adventure in the stronghold, noting they found some scary things about the Void within. He asks Braum if he knows anything about it, and while he doesn't know much, he does recall that the yetis fought alongside the Three Sisters to seal away the Void but paid a terrible price, something Willump is secretive about.
