Dear Wechaty community,
Since 2020, our Wechaty Community Development Server has been sponsored and maintained as a free shared resource for contributors. It has helped many of us prototype chatbots, test new ideas, and collaborate more easily.
After careful consideration of the cost, maintenance effort, and security responsibilities, the Wechaty PMC has decided to retire the Community Development Server.

🕒 Timeline
Now → December 31, 2025
The Community Development Server will continue running during this period.
Please treat this as a transition / migration period.
From January 1, 2026
The Wechaty Community Development Server will be permanently shut down.
All services running on it will be stopped and the server will no longer be accessible.
📦 What you need to do
If you currently have any data, code, or running services on the Community Development Server, please migrate as soon as possible:
Back up all important data (code, logs, configs, databases, etc.).
Migrate any running services (bots, webhooks, dashboards, demos, etc.) to your own:
Cloud VM (GCP, AWS, Azure, etc.),
Self-hosted server, or
Other hosting platforms (Render, Railway, Fly.io, etc.).
Update any webhooks, environment variables, and DNS records to point to your new infrastructure.
After December 31, 2025, we cannot guarantee that any data or services will remain available.
⚠️ Disclaimer
Starting from January 1, 2026:
The Wechaty PMC, Wechaty community, and related maintainers will not be responsible for:
Any data loss on the Community Development Server, or
Any service downtime or business impact caused by the shutdown.
The server is provided “as is” during the remaining time, with no uptime or backup guarantees.
💚 Thank you
We want to sincerely thank all contributors who have used and supported the Community Development Server over the years. It has been an important part of Wechaty’s early growth and community culture.
We look forward to seeing what you continue to build with Wechaty in your own environments, and we encourage you to keep sharing your deployment setups, best practices, and tools with the community.
If you have any questions or need help understanding the transition, please reply in the GitHub thread or contact the PMC via the wechaty/PMC repository:
