WeChangeLA's Phonebank for Martha Coakley and the Fate of Reform

*Bring your cell phone and your free weekend minutes
It's time to return to your battle stations (or your seat on a park bench, cell phone in hand). One week from today, voters across Massachusetts will go to the polls to vote for a new Senator. The seat held by Ted Kennedy is up for grabs. Democrat Martha Coakley is facing an onslaught of smear attacks paid for by special interests. Those who oppose health care reform, and the broader agenda of Change we worked so hard to bring to Washington are eager to see Ted Kennedy's seat fall out of Democratic hands. If Democrats lose this seat, we will also lose the votes needed to overcome a filibuster, empowering the party of "No" to block the democratic agenda for the rest of this year and probably even beyond.
Now it is time to fight. The outcome of this election not only threatens the 60-vote majority we need to finish the health care bill, but also for the coming jobs bill, immigration reform, energy and education. Martha Coakley must win this fight, and OFA has asked us to help by calling democrats in Massachusetts and turning them out to the polls. WeChangeLA has answered that call, and we invite you to join us in taking concrete, direct action in support of Martha Coakley, in defense of health care for more Americans, and in a show of strength and determination in the fight to make meaningful changes in America.
As experienced members of the WeChangeLA team, and veterans of the Obama campaign, you have the skills and determination to make a difference. We have the call lists. Together, we can make a difference in this election. Can we count on you to phone bank in the park this Saturday?
