I had a super galaxy new in 1981 and took it to Iceland on the CTC holiday. Had to reduce chain ring size to get low enough gears.Broke gear hanger lug whilst in mountains and had to reset gearing by chain breaking and re linking when we got to the tarmac road. Got a new replacement frame under guarantee when I got back. Next year took it to North Cape Norway. Had a sanyo dynamo fixed to front pannier lamp bracket which avoided the grit near bottom bracket. Great for touring with camping loads and rough stuff off road trips into the Dales. Sold it so I could upgrade a Holsworth with cantilever brakes and two extra bottle cages. One for the meths bottle for stove fuel.
For your extreme viewing pleasure is this stunning Ludwig 5x14 Jazz Festival snare drum in a very rare Black Galaxy Sparkle. It's in spectacular condition. This beauty has all original tension rods and washers. Original hoops, chrome over brass on snare side, chrome over steel on batter side. The top head is a vintage Ludwig Weathermaster, and the bottom head and wires have been changed. The P-83 strainer and red felt baseball bat muffler are in beautiful condition and both operate smoothly. The Black Galaxy Sparkle wrap is absolutely beautiful. There are no extra holes or modifications of any kind. The keystone badge is nice and tight, with serial # 115XXX. The chrome is in beautiful condition. It tunes up easily, and sounds magnificent. This drum would equally be at home amongst the finest of collections, studios, or stages. Enjoy!
