Nepal is endowed with good Renewable Energy potential. Renewable Energy
plays the vital role for development of nation in terms of social,
economical and environmental aspects for sustainable development of Nepal.
Now 83% of the total population of Nepal live in rural areas and 87% of
the total energy consumption comes from traditional sources such as fuel
wood, agriculture residue and dung. The major sources of renewable energy
are hydro power, solar energy, wind energy and various forms of biomass.
At present, the country faces daily load shedding of up to 19 hours,
seriously inhibiting the possibilities for economic development.
Government of Nepal declared energy emergency and stepped up its efforts
to accelerate energy development. There is political consensus for
according utmost priority to energy development, particularly the
renewable sources of energy.
Now, It is felt necessity to establishment of Renewable Energy Association
for uniting the SEMAN, NBPA, NMHDA and WECAN under same umbrella so that
it could even explore opportunities in renewable energy sector in future
in a coordinated effort of associated members. It is expected that our
coordinated effort will be supportive for making clean energy Nepal.
You are cordially invited to attain the Tea programme on the auspicious
