Okey-dokey, well; it's interesting you should say that about it
becoming an invaluable tool in my repetoire of ''Must-Have'
productivity development software.

Because I just downloaded about a week or so ago, but have not yet had
a chance to install and try it; when an Nth Penguin salesperson called
me on the telephone to ask me if I had any questions about it. Which I
did, I do websites mostly, and just signed a new client yesterday.
They require web apps embedded in their site that will work seamlessly
with SQL services, build and configure customer databases, and
generate backend code. That excited me into telling him I would
probably purchase a commercial license in January if I found it useful
(and lucrative) enough. So....yeah.

He did impart to me some information that I did not know: the very
important fact that it works as a plug-in only with Visual Studio.
(I've been using a trial version of Expressions Web 2, which I just
LOVE) That inspired me to go ahead and re-install VS2008, the full
version; which I had just sitting around because I've been using
Expressions Web so much. Or, Microsoft Web Developer Express Edition
2008. But that does not seem to have an intuitive remote server
interface built-in to it, the way Ex. Web does (one of the things I
love about it).

If anyone out there knows where in the plethora of tools, toolbars,
sidebars and buttons within VS2008 I might be able to find a friendly
way to connect to my remote server, while I am working on the
corresponding site: please let me know. I will immediately start using
it more once I learn how to do that. (If it is even possible to do
that in VS.)

Thank you for reading this and for any future response(s).

One more thing; and it's kinda gossipy....the Nth Penguin rep I spoke
with on the phone today told me (well, okay; it's two more things then-
sorry) that
A. Nth Penguin plans to release a new build of itself within 2 weeks,
and
B. There are currently talks about a near-future event which will be a
development challenge of some kind. What, I asked; will be the reward
if one enters the competition and wins it? Well, we're not exactly
sure yet, replied the friendly, informative voice: however....there
have been ruminations of it being possibly like a stand-up gaming
console. (William, if I've said it wrong- forgive me please, I never
game anymore. For that cardinal sin against the geeks of the world,
also I humbly ask forgiveness. If I do happen to enter and win, I
promise to take time to learn how to use and enjoy it. And then
provide feedback.)

I hope to hear more from the other WebWidgetry Google Group members in
these pages soon, and I'll be back as well after I've taken the
software out for a test-drive. (hopefully, today; but one never really
knows.)

Wow. Hi Lou Anne :)

Thanks for the comments. FYI... the challenge/arcade cabinet giveaway IS only a rumor at this point :) We are working out the details, but it's in our _tentative_ plans for the near future, yes. I don't want anyone being super disappointed, though, if it doesn't work out here, and we don't do the giveaway.

That said, yes, we are planning some new features (and a TON of bug fixes) for a (as soon as possible) release of the tools. We're trying to get this stuff out of "Beta" state ASAP so you all can really start to put it to use out there.

Let us know what you think, Lou Anne, and of course what issues/bugs you run into.
