Job Title: System Administrator - Storage & VMware

Duration: 7 months
Location: Carlsbad, CA, US

Qualifications:

Project Summary:
The client is building out test and production facilities to support satellite based Internet service. The project team will build two test lab environments in the US and 1 facility in Australia. The environment will include Windows and Linux servers, HP Storage devices, and Oracle Database servers. We are looking for strong candidates with hands-on experience and the ability to deliver in a high pressure environment.
This role is for a strong hands-on resources with skills in VMware provisioing and storage system administration. This resource should have experience building VMware Vsphere clusters from the ground.

General Duties/Tasks:
Some of the responsibilities for this position include:
- OSing VMware Cluster hosts
- Configuring Vmware to the point where we can provision systems.
- Cloning/deploying VMs
- Working with Storage Vendor to initialize array
- Setup SAN Switches
- Run/label fiber cabling
- Carving up storage
- Presenting storage to all of the other systems
Nice to have qualifications:
- The preferred resource will have hands-on experience with HP EVA and XP storage platforms.
- Certification as a VMware VCP for Vsphere 5 is a plus.

Candidates must posses strong written and verbal communications skills.
