Job Title: Database Administrator - Oracle and MySQL

Duration: 8 months
Location: Carlsbad, CA, US

Qualifications:

Project Summary:
The client is building out test and production facilities to support satellite based Internet service. The project team will build two test lab environments in the US and 1 facility in Australia. The environment will include Windows and Linux servers, HP Storage devices, and Oracle Database servers. We are looking for strong candidates with hands-on experience and the ability to deliver in a high pressure environment.
This role is for a strong hands-on DBA with skills as an infrastructure DBA for both Oracle and MySQL.

General Duties/Tasks:
Some of the duties for this position include:
- Configuring Oracle Databases on the Oracle Nodes
- Configuring Active Data Guard, and creating scripts to automate
various processes
- Ability to setup RMAN and configure it with HP Data Protector to automate backups.
- Setup MySQL Servers
- Configuring MySQL replication
- Assisting with application installs against Oracle or MySQL
databases.

Required Skills/Experience:
- Oracle Database Administration
- MySQL Database Administration
- MySQL
- Oracle RMAN

The preferred resource will also have hands-on experience with HP Data protector with Oracle RMAN.

Candidates must possess strong written and verbal communications skills.
