invalid gem format for webrat 0.4.4 ?

Hi,
Using rubygems 1.3.3 I tried to install webrat 0.4.4, I get the
following error:
ERROR: Error installing webrat:
invalid gem format for /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/cache/webrat-0.4.4.gem
The gem also does not open with tar.
My gem sources are set to gems.rubyforge.org and gems.github.com
Has anyone else faced the same problem ?

I had the same problem. Fixed by installing libxml2-devel and libxslt-
devel. If you run 'gem install webrat' instead of 'rake gems:install'
it'll give you a hint of what is missing
