db.insert - best practices

Hi All, managed to figure out my other issue thankfully but I just stumbled into this and was curious as to what the best way to handle inserting data? I noticed the input is already escaped, and with db.query and db.select there is a vars option but does this exist with db.insert or is there nothing additional required?
