I found Fuel very useful, and was planning to keep track of all my car
maintenance with it. I think the way to do recurring service reminders
is by configuring the "Preset", and whenever an reminder event is
done, we can simply create a new one with that "Preset" feature.
(Please correct me if I was wrong) The "Preset" feature only support
"Month(s) Offset" for time, and it could be more flexible if "Week(s)
Offset" or even "Day(s) Offset" are supported. I personally check my
tire pressures every 6 weeks, and it seems difficult to achieve with
the current Fuel of 0.9.21. Thanks!

I'm glad you find Fuel useful. I appreciate the feedback. I use it regularly myself, and the great part about that is I encounter the same issues other users do... so my list of useful/convenience features to implement continues to grow. Its become more a matter of time lately, as I've been extremely busy with my day (and night ;) ) job the last several months, but I'm just about at a point where I can finally really focus on [Mojo] Fuel's successor, and how it fits into the changing landscape that is HP and the new Enyo framework.

Repeating Presets work to automatically generate the next Reminder for you, once you mark the "current" one completed and commit it. What happens in the background, is that Fuel attempts to match the name of the Reminder being completed to the name of a Preset in the list. If it finds a match, it checks to see if that Preset is set to be repeating. If it is, Fuel uses the values specified in that Preset to offset the completed values and create the next reminder for you, inheriting which constraints are on/off from the previous.

You are correct about the current implementation of Presets being geared toward months, and I'll keep your suggestion in mind as I move forward. That said, although admittedly not as friendly as it could be, you can use fractional values in the months field if integers don't meet your needs.

Thanks again for the feedback,
-Rob

Thanks for your reply, Rob. If I understand correctly, you were saying
that the current version of fuel supported fractional values in the
months field. I have just tried, and it doesn't. Thanks!

So, if you go to the "Add a Reminder Preset..." scene and tap on the Month(s) Offset field, you cannot then enter a decimal value?

If that is what you are saying, that is very odd... I just tested that against webOS 1.4.0.420, 1.4.1.427, 1.4.5.465, 2.0.1.296, 2.0.1.519 and the 3.x RC in the emulator, 1.4.5.299 on my Pre, 1.4.5.271 on my Pixi, and 2.1.0.100 on my Pre2... all running Fuel 0.9.21... and each one allowed me to input and save a Reminder Preset with a decimal value in the Month(s) Offset field.

This batch of tests did, however, illuminate two other bugs... One being in the label displayed in the Reminder Preset drop-down for a fractional Month(s) Offset value (it only displays the integer portion). And more importantly, applying the Reminder Preset with a fractional Month(s) Offset value only applied the integer portion.

I'll have to take a deeper look at it over the weekend, I'm still swamped at work.

Just as you have found out, yes, I can input fractional number, they
just don't work as a fractional number. Even if they do, not sure how
the fractional number corresponds to days/weeks. In February, 0.5
month means 2 weeks, but in other months, it will be slightly longer
than 2 weeks. Thanks for you effort.

The bad news is... that is absolutely correct, and there really isn't a quick fix for it; I've tried a few different approaches in the last couple of days, and it just isn't predictable enough. The good news is... now I'm aware of it, and it bugs me.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I really appreciate the feedback.
