When adding a fuel event in PLN (polish zloty) currency, which is also
set in my vehicle preferences as default, in the main view the values
are exactly the same as given in the event addition but with punds
sign before them.
This was not the case when using fuel in previous version but I can
not tell which one this was as I had to doctor my pre.

Further more the fuel usage is being shown as km/l (mpg) instead of l/
100km which is being used in europe more commonly. This was also
"normal" meaning the fuel useage in fuel hisory was shown as l/100km
in the previous version.

I'd appreciate if someone could take look at this issue as this makes
the use of fuel quite limited.

Hope its a easy fix,

As you likely noticed, none of the currency input fields allow the use
of currency symbols; the fields are strictly limited to numeric
characters [0-9] and the decimal delimiter [. or ,] for the currently
specified Region of the device. Currency display within the Main scene
is formatted using the built-in webOS formatting functions, which are
likewise dependent on the currently specified Region of the device;
this is a device/OS level setting, not an app preference. For this,
the app simply passes the input value to the OS and asks for a
formatted version, and then displays what the OS handed back. So, my
first suggestion is to make sure that the Region for the device is set
appropriately and that the currency formatting displayed there is as
you would expect.

Fuel does provide an Efficiency Display option, which you can change
from the Preferences scene, that allows you to choose between Distance
Per Volume (Economy) and Volume Per Distance (Consumption). You access
the Preferences scene from the App Menu; top left corner, where the
app name is displayed. Once in Preferences, the option is within the
Fuel History section.

Thank you for your quick reply.

Your advice was very helpfull.First problem was resolved by changing
the regional settings in the configuration of the webOS. The economy →
consumption option also was what I was looking for in case of fuel
history.

I however have another small question. It is also about economy -
consumption setting. When I changed from economy to consumption the
arrow indicating (in my case) bigger consumption (red) was directed
down instead of up. Just as if it was still working with the economy
setting.

PS. Thank you so much for making such a wonderfull fuel loging
program.

I'm glad that the two issues you've encountered were resolved easily.
I've been wanting to add Region detection of the device to Fuel, so
that I could set the default Economy/Consumption value accordingly, I
just haven't looked deep enough into it yet; I'm not familiar enough
with which Regions use which format, so I need to do some research
first.

With regard to the state of the Fuel Efficiency indicator (the green/
red arrow with the "E" on it, that adorns the Fuel History divider)...
The purpose of this indicator is to display the fuel efficiency of the
vehicle, relative to the mean average; whether it takes more or less
fuel (than your mean average) to travel a given distance. Given it's
purpose, it appears to be displaying correctly... That is, if DPV is
greater than the DPV Mean (a greater distance was traveled per
volume), a green arrow points up, and if DPV is less than the DPV Mean
(a lesser distance was traveled per volume), a red arrow point down.
Likewise, if VPD is less than the VPD Mean (less fuel was consumed to
travel a given distance), a green arrow points up, and if VPD is
greater than the VPD Mean (more fuel was consumed to travel a given
distance), a red arrow points down. To clarify, the arrow indicates
efficiency, not directly whether economy or consumption has gone up or
down. Does that make more sense?

Thank you, it is clear now.

I do however think that it would be nicer if the directions of the
arrows were dependent on the setting of economy/consumption. This
would mean that whichever setting is being used it would still
consistant with the way people talk. In Poland for example we don't
say that our efficiency is worse or lower than average, we say that
consumption has risen or "my car has used more fuel" (from average of
course). I think this is just a little improvement to the program
making it more international.
Hope you like my idea.

Good luck with exploring the country specific settings.
As far as I know most of the europe (Germany, Poland, Cech, France ?)
use consumption. I also know for sure that in United Kingdom they use
efficiency.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the feedback. I've added your request to the Feature
Request list on the support site; http://sites.google.com/site/webosrbtwhiz/feature-requests.
Once I've made it through a few of the features I'm already working
on, I'll take a look at what improvements to the indicator make sense.
