Hello Group,

My name is Danny Pimienta, I founded a mobile app development company
called Four Squared after I was laid off, I initially focused on
iPhone and Android apps but stumbled upon WebOS and have shifted my
focus to it in the last 2 weeks. Is this group a active one and is
there a local meeting of the minds in DC or surrounding area?

We have yet to be an active group, but a few of us are interested in
organizing something along those lines.

Where are you located? I myself am in Alexandria, I know we have folks
from Falls Church and elsewhere in VA here.

webOS has been a lot of fun for me so far, and I'm definitely up for
sharing information and inspiration with other webOS devs!

I'm in silver Spring MD and would be very excited to meet others to help me get started.

I have a lot of experience with web development ad design, but find webOS very difficult to get started with and would love a kick-start session.

Maybe if we can agree on a meeting time/place, we can throw together a quick session explaining Mojo (and perhaps Ares).

I can easily have you off to a good running start in 2-3 hours...

It seems to me somewhere in Arlington or Georgetown might be a good, somewhat centralish meeting place. Nearby Metro and free wifi would probably be our prerequisites.

I'd probably do better to meet up on a weekend afternoon, but other times can work...

Count me in if a session is put together.

I am available weeknights and most weekends. I am willing to travel as long as the meetup location has ample free parking.

Sure, I can cover PhoneGap on Palm Pre if anyone is interested, it's a
fun little project:

Hello Danny,

Interesting chat you sparked off! I'm definitely interested in a meet-
up. I'm in the VA area (Falls Church). I'm happy with any place
along a metro.

I was going to suggest you check out http://webos101.com to see if
anything there helps (and if not, please expand upon it!).

There's nothing about PhoneGap on there yet (hint hint), though.

Hey Roy,

I like meetup groups, they are very beneficial in my opinion. I
regularly attend the Dotnetnuke Users Group in Tysons Corner and
gained a lot of knowledge as well as expanded my network. I think we
can do the same for WebOS and be a force to reckon within the Palm
world.

There is a growing number of interesting mobile frameworks:
