Greetings,

As stated last week, WO-NoVA is losing its Dave (and is accepting applications for a new Dave).  So you are woligiously obligated to come to WO-NoVA tomorrow night!  (RSVP appreciated)  We expect a larger than usual meeting, and presumably there will be interesting things to talk about (other than Dave), especially in light of WOWODC and the new found motivation to get things organized for the the future of Wonder and all the things previously associated with a specific set of Apple frameworks.

Like the last couple months, we will be meeting at Mad Fox in Falls Church and will be meeting at 6:30.  (RSVP appreciated . . . because it's easier to get a table if we no how big it needs to be)

Mad Fox
444 W Broad St
Falls Church, VA

Hey all,

Movers are late today - not sure when I'm getting out of here... I will almost certainly be late. Probably closer to 7:30ish before I can arrive!

703-256-4397 for status updates!

Dave

Curious if anyone else has any thoughts about this.  For the past three months we have been meeting at Mad Fox in Falls Church, mostly because it was much more convenient for most of the 4 people who reliably showed up than Herndon.  I was the sole exception, living in Herndon myself.  However, when no regulars worked at K12 any longer, we clearly couldn't easily do it there anyway, so we switched.

Mad Fox is  good venue if it's 4-8 of us sitting around a table discussing things, but it's clearly less useful for presentations.  This week's meeting saw more people than we have had in years (15 or so) and this also had it's issues, because by nature such a large table causes multiple disconnected conversations rather than an organized meeting.  One side of the table was apparently talking about the future of WO while the other side was talking about dietary habits.  On the upside, I have now decided to start eating healthier, but I am not sure that's the purpose of the meetings.

So I thought I'd ask:

1. Take Sunil up on his offer, and move the meeting back to Reston?  (which has the added disadvantage of me moving to Arlington next month)
2. Continue at Mad Fox and keep the meetings informal unless we have a particular reason for a presentation meeting
or
3. Find some other place that can accommodate both options (which has thus far proven much easier to say than do)

Option 4 of course is to make no decisions and continue as we are, which is more or less like 2.

Thoughts?

It was good meet  fellow WO developers again and re-engage with the NoVA WO community.  :-)

BTW, if you looking for a place to host the August WO-NoVA  meeting, I can offer our offices in Reston, VA.  It is a bit small but we have a conference room that can accommodate about 20-25 people. Plus we have good HD-1080p projector for demos.   And the pizza and the soft drinks would be on us.   If the first one works out for everyone,  you could alternate between Mad Fox and our offices.  Let me know if you are interested.

Also, if you want try out the iPhone app I showed you yesterday, here is promo code you can use to check it out.  I am eager to get feedback from a fellow IOS developer. :-)

Seat Authority iPhone App Promo Code: 4RNR7H93N6HT

Thanks.

We could move it to Brunei. Change it's name to WOASEAN... But I have a feeling that that wouldn't get the K12 people to show up either. :-P
