GURGAON: With authorities
continuing to pass the buck and bicker among themselves, hundreds of
residents in DLF Phase-I are being forced to commute in the dark for the
past two months. The problem arose after the public works department
(B&R) turned the existing two-lane Gurgaon-Faridabad Road into
four-lane. For this, the authorities had removed all the streetlights
from this stretch of the road. However, after the project was completed,
the authorities did not bother to re-install the streetlights. Things
turn to worse after the two main civic agencies - the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) and the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) -claimed that it was not their responsibility to fix the streetlights.
