Work is on in full swing and the road will be ready before time.
Ninety per cent of the work has already been done.

Once the Gurgaon-Faridabad six-lane-road is completed, it is estimated
to boost activities between the two cities in more than one way. This
six-lane road will hopefully reduce the commuting time of thousands of
workers of small and big factories and other daily commuters and that
in turn will expedite other related aspects of development.

“This lane will definitely reduce commuting time to Faridabad. I go to
Faridabad regularly to meet friends and relatives. So for me, this is
a good development,“ said Chandra Prakash Dawar, a resident of
Parshvanath Ville, Sohna Road, Gurgaon. The state government has so
far been thinking of ways and means to tackle the increasing traffic
between the two cities. It finally gave a nod for the six lane project
on a build operate and transfer (BOT) basis to a private party.
The existing road between the two cities is in a pathetic state as the
traffic volume has increased manifold leading to jams and accidents.
The current stretch, which is only twoway, is unable to accommodate
the existing traffic volume.

“Accidents are common on this stretch but the six-lane stretch with a
divider will be able to make traffic smooth and risk free. Also,
thousands of employees working in both the cities will be able to save
a lot of time,“ said Sarvdaman Oberoi, a resident of Unival Garden,
Gurgaon. The stretch, which is about 35 km long, passes through the
Aravalli ridge to meet the Golf Course Road at DLF and further leads
to Badshahpur through Ghata village. Those working in Manesar and
Faridabad factories will benefit immensely from this stretch.

“My work area is Manesar.
It takes me nearly one-and-ahalf hour to commute to and fro. After
this stretch gets ready, the commuting time will reduce,“ said BP
Nautiyal, a resident of Sector 3, Faridabad. The estimated time of
completion is May 31, 2011; the authorities are hopeful that all the
undergoing work will finish much before the deadline. “Work is on in
full swing and the road will be ready before time,“ said Naresh Tomar,
executive engineer Public Works Department (PWD) Faridabad, who heads
the project, adding that 90% of the work has been done.
