I got the following errors ( I'll summerize here ) when trying to boot
weblogic server 9.2

SQL-Server rejected establishment of SQL-connection. Pointbase Server
may not be running on localhost at port 9092.

A list of errors of the form : Failed to initialize the application
'examples-demo' due to error weblogic.application.ModuleException

followed by a truncated dump listing with the whole dump in a log
file ( somewhere ).

A list of warnings of the form: JMS queue 'weblogic.wsee.Default.Queue
is not found as a result, web service asynce responses via jms transport
is not
supported

A list of errors of the form: Unable to create a server socket for
listening on channel "Default". The address 10.0.0.2 might be incorrect
or another
process is using port 7001 ( in one error message it was 7002 ).

Note: I can successfully ping address 10.0.0.2 and localhost for that
matter.

Finally I get : <Emergency><Security> Server failed to bind to
configured Admin port. The port may already be used by another process.

then a few more messages and finally

stopping PointBase server

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for maybe insulting you by giving too simple advice... As you
most likely know, Pointbase is the default database supplied with
Weblogic and needs to be started seperately. You can ensure that it has
started with a telnet to the ip where the process binds at port 9092...

Do you have more than one network adapter in the machine? Then be
carefull when using 'localhost' - try sticking to ip's instead. A
socket connection binds to an ip and a port - make sure you've got
positive id on both.

It says "..Admin port. The port may already...". Try doing a telnet to
that port also and check if there is a socket listener otherwise
responding... For the future, consider using both ping _and_ telnet as
simple troubleshooting devices.

Best of luck!

Thanks for the reply and information.

I succeeded at booting up the Weblogic server 9.2 after shutting off my
Mcafee personal firewall plus. This is too drastic of a solution. With
the firewall running I went in and put 127.0.0.1 as a trusted IP 10.0.0.2
(my system local IP )(is already a trusted IP ). I open the ports
510,7001,7002,9092 for tcp incoming/outgoing and the same for udp.
I still get the same errors when trying to start Weblogic server 9.2.
Any info appreciated and again thanks for the last reply.

I have success with my firewall. Mcafee personal firewall plus had blocked
some
java binaries. I unblocked them and Weblogic Server 9.2 came up. Hope
this might help
somebody out there. Thanks again for the reply.
