EarInit does not seem to work

Hi i am running the earInit command on an already created ear file and this is what it does..

%java weblogic.marathon.ddinit.EarInit coreeararked/

Search for EJB components in /home/syed/projects/coreeararked
App was not specifically an EJB app. Will try to create an ear.

Search for Web components in /home/syed/projects/coreeararked
Found Web components. Initializing descriptors
Found Web module

somehow it doesnot seem to see the jar files and sees some webapp in the ear fle i also tried it by unpacking the ear file in a directpry and ran the earinit command on the directory and still the same at the end if the execution it creates web.xml and weblogic.xml in a WEB-INF folder and thats it it doesnot even go through the jar files.
can any body tell me whats wrong
P.S the jar files have ejbs.class files in them and ejb-jar.xml in them but not weblogic-ejb-jar.xml
