Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled AWS Engineer with strong expertise in AWS Cloud, MongoDB Atlas, and Apache Kafka to design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance data and application platforms for a healthcare client. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures, real-time data streaming, and healthcare data compliance standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure using AWS services.
  • Implement scalable data solutions integrating MongoDB Atlas and Kafka for real-time processing.
  • Build and manage data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery across systems.
  • Optimize system performance, reliability, and cost efficiency in AWS environments.
  • Develop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Ensure data security, compliance, and governance aligned with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, PHI handling, etc.).
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and implement automation for operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Maintain documentation for architecture, processes, and operational procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in cloud engineering or platform engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Glue, etc.).
  • Solid experience working with MongoDB Atlas, including cluster setup, performance tuning, and security.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka (topic management, producers/consumers, streaming pipelines).
  • Experience designing real-time or event-driven architectures.
  • Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python, Bash, or similar).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the healthcare or life sciences domain.
  • Knowledge of data compliance and regulatory standards.
  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or similar).
  • Experience with monitoring tools and logging frameworks.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
