Hello,

I have got several questions about WebkitDriver. I have an application
exclusively running on iPad. This I need to test with Selenium in an
automated Jenkins testframework out of Java. Thus, the application
uses a lot of JavaScript and AJAX a Selenium Server doesn't fit all
the test cases.

First question:
Is WebkitDriver the right solution for me?

Second question:
Is there a precompiled version for Linux / Windows? I tried to compile
it under Linux, but it did not really work?

Thanks for your help!

WebDriver is a right solution, however for your application it makes sense to use native driver for iPhone/iPad instead of generic headless WebKitDriver: http://code.google.com/p/selenium/wiki/WebDriverForMobileBrowsers.

It is Linux-only at the moment and unfortunately there is no pre-compiled/pre-packaged version. Building from source code should work.

Thanks for your help!

Hello,

thanks for your fast response.
I think I will give the WebkitDriver another try ;)
What version of Ubuntu are you using? (In the wiki is written:
WebKitDriver is currenlty only supported on Ubuntu.)

Thanks, Mark

Hello,

Sorry to bother you again...

I still got some trouble to get started with the webkitdriver. The
following describes what I did to get it compiled and where I am
stuck:
https://gist.github.com/88e7eb9605da80173d36

Might it be that I don't need to run the tests? What are the next
steps?

I tried to import the jars into our Selenium project, but there still
seems there is still something missing because I get errors?! What
jars do I have to import?

By the way, after I (hopefully) succeeded these problems I will make a
small tutorial as you can see (in the gist) it is already started . I
will put it into the wiki - I think it will help others!

Thank you very much!
