It's two hours long, and contains courtroom "reenactments", but it is
still a fascinating look at one the REAL threats to America. No, not
"islamofascism", but the continued assault on science (Darwinian
theory) by knuckle-dragging cretins (many of whom live here in
Texas...) who would like nothing better than to set aside all
scientific gains by humanity back to pre-Renaissance days and "letting
God sort it out".

I think I need to hit the shooting range soon--need to print up some
headshots of Shrub, Robertson, Falwell, Benny Hinn, etc. for targets
first though. Do I really need to waste the colored ink here? Nah,
black-and-white somehow seems more appropriate...

I saw it. It reminded me of Islamic fundamentalism - blind adherence
in the name of faith. One person noted that God gave us faith as well
as the ability to reason. Reasonable people have faith and faithful
people reason but neither side knows all there is to know. The 2 are
complimentary and not mutually exclusive.

The trial took place in Dover, PA in 04-05. It made the papers here.
It is not so bleak when you know that the members of the school board
who started this thing were resoundingly voted out of office even
before the trial ended. The trial explored the disingenuous tactics
used by Creationists to methodically disguise their idea of religion
(one where lying under oath is OK) under the pseudoscience name of
"Intelligent" Design" as a ruse to include it in public school
curriculum - not permissible under the First Amendment separation of
Church and State.

We have seperation of church and state? I thought we were a christian
state (at least that's the way it feels...).

I really can't stand the term "islamofacism". Seems most used (not
with quotes) by our own group of facists to justify their brutal,
inhumane, costly, and pointless wars. I have a right wing nutjob
christian extremist ex-airforce coworker who likes to use the term
"islamofacism" even though none of those so called states has gone
around and killed 600,000 under blatantly false pretenses like we have.
