woot woot!!!!

I figure Boener and the rest of the House Repubs were hammered when  they voted for the resolution...So drink another one for them.

None for our spineless House democrats who continue to display their total uselessness.

Not a chance. Pilosi vowed not to go there. Committee means it is dead
for now and no one is going to wastemore time because the national
nightmare is over anyway. Kucinich is stroking his constituency but
it only reveals how little political influence he has with Congress.
Idealistic views seem to produce lousy politicians.

What is more interesting in the news today was that Congress is going
to take a good look at alternative energy from wind and water and
hopefully move fast on that. Personally no matter how much I hate
Cheney, I don't want that delayed by a political free for all. No one
has talked about tidal and in stream generators before.

So you think Big Oil Bush will actually do something to hurt his buddies in the Oil biz. Not a chance. No alternative energy bills are getting done till a new Prez in in office. Bush's veto pen is oiled and ready, Kids health care was just the beginning.

If upholding the Constitution  means being a lousy politician and having a backbone, then they should all be lousy like Kucinich.

If impeaching Cheney stops us from bombing Iran, it's worth whatever the cost. Pelosi and Reed are completely out of touch with reality and I'm sure they will be getting pink slips in their next elections.

Actually it looks like Bush, et al, is on for this one. Oil companies
are awakening to the fact that when the oil runs out and/or is
(already) too expensive for Americans they better get their finger in
the pie where the money of the future lies. Big oil is investing in
alternatives and so Bush (that is Cheney who is holding the cards very
close to the vest) is changing his tune with them. Remember a
comprehensive alternative energy plan is looking more and more
competitive and environmentalists are backing this one (the opposed
oil rigs in the Gulf). Wind generators in Fed lands 3 miles out where
they are not obtrusive and water generators hidden under water. They
aren't potential pollutors. Bush knows that there is going to be a big
push like going to the moon or the interstate highway. He would like
to be in on it but he has spent all his capital (literally and
figuratively) in Iraq. If companies will do it then he doesn't have to
pay for it. The question is will the states support it - though the
plan is for outside the 3 mile state limits. It can go forward without
them but may lose some votes in Congress.

I actually think there is a fair to good chance of this one going
forward.

I don't know why I get replies by email and they don't show up on the
site so I will probably be answering this in reverse of your last
message Chris.

I hear you, but just stating things as I have seen them. It is a
shame that ideals (good or bad) are not what gets Presidents elected
pr we would have had Bobby Kennedy and Adlae (sp?) Stevenson but it is
the job position that we elect, a platform, not one person's ideals or
lack there of (take a look at what we have now if you need a good
example). There is plenty of room for good politicians but the
President is a figurehead in part and, much as I hate to say it, that
is not what people vote for. We should be voting for all the lesser
cabinet members and other unelected people who have the ideals and
talent. At best some have to be approved by Congress - and try to get
those guys together over ideals.

If Cheney actually goes down (still an uphill battle, to be sure)
watch for Shrub to either resign (w/o Daddy Darkness, he ain't shit)
or else do a Pakistani Pole Pull (declare martial law, or whatever
Musharraf calls it). Shrub can't handle the power/responsibility on
his own.

Don't know--just great theater watching Bohnerhead shoot himself in
the head today. Plus, God bless Kucinich, a man with nothing to lose
or win, having the balls to at least stand up for the Constitution.
For the rest of the triangulating, vote-counting, pussy Democrats who
have no spine--F'em with Larry Craig's d*^K!!!

BTW, since when did being a registered Democrat mean I had to choose
between my brain and my balls??

Also of note today, the House, proving they can do two things on the
same day, voted to override S^$t-for-Brains veto of the water
resources bill, 361-54, including money for Everglades restoration and
(some) for Herbert Hoover Dike rebuilding...Keep kicking the P.O.S.
while he's down--it's about time...

I notice the sponsored link on the side is now:

A Critical Swing Seat in GOP Hands.

If only I could click a button and take money away from them! Or make
them pay for this f'ed up war they were so gun ho for!

I wish Cheney were impeached... actually I want a lot worse for him
and his ilk.

I have to agree that I'm horribly disappointed with the democrats and
how most of them voted incorrectly on the Iraq thing. People tell me
"they couldn't have stopped it" or "it would have been political
suicide", well by going along the whole debate has been effectively
moved far to the reactionary right...
