Picked up a few pots multiplanted with what I recognized as
P.pinnatifidum .
Its a great filler in a landscape , never climbing , tolerating full
sun and deep shade .
Someone has decided to make up a name for it [maybe they did not know
what sp. it was ]
Philodendron Pegasus ! What a phunny phoney name !
Arden had seedlings a few years ago , but i never got any . See it
around in gardens .
Anne has a nice one in a pot on the veranda . Just scavanged a pup
from a B'n'B down the beach .It had grown into a nice clump , but was
taking up to much space for the owner . She was glad to let me trim it
back and hack into it. A grove of these will look impressive .

It is in Philo. subsect. Macrolonchium , most of the other species in
this section have large triangular leaves ..like melinonii ,
fragrantissimum , simsii and roriamae .
A distinguishing feature in this section is the cataphylls persisting
as coarse fibres around the thich stem , that has very short
internodes.
Tom Croat thinks this sp. and robustum might belong in another
subsection.

Photo of the large one down the beach will have to wait until I go
back to work on Fri.
Maybe Anne can take a pic of hers , it gets very bright light on the
edge of her veranda .

Look forward to seeing it. I did a double take as one of the common
Phils here is bipinnatifidum (Selloum).

Hmm, you aroid people! It maybe something exciting to you guys, but to
me it's just a leafy thing I picked up at the markets for five bucks
who earns it keep as a pot plant on the veranda. I'll get a picture up
later this week. Ann

Not much difference from P bipinnatifidum! (Selloum). Maybe the lobes
are not as deeply cleft. Anything else?
