Rising or Falling Edge Detection- Is it supposed to work?

Referring to https://raspi.tv/2014/rpi-gpio-update-and-detecting-both-rising-and-falling-edges.
I would like to trigger events based on falling/rising edges on my IO. Problem is this feature doesn't seem to work in the webiopi / python / script.
Has anyone tried it? I'm hoping I'm doing something wrong.
