Profiling cachegrind files

I know that something similar to this was asked before, but I'll try
again anyway.

Does webgrind handle any kind of cachegrind file or just a cachegrind
from xdebug? I would like to use the familiar interface of webgrind to
inspect a cachegrind profile of a python script. Is this possible? If
it would require modifying things, can someone help point me in the
right direction to get started?

While Xdebugs profiles are based on the cachegrind format, I am not
sure to what extend they are compatible.
It could be an interesting extension to Webgrind, but at this point
the analysis is very much focused on PHP.
