The version of NUnit probably isn't relevant in this case. The technologies which need to be in sync are:
  1. Version of Chrome
  2. Version of Selenium
  3. Version of Chrome Driver
Currently, if you go to http://chromedriver.storage.googleapis.com/index.html you will see the different versions of Chrome Driver. If you go into each version and read the notes.txt file you can see which versions of Chrome the driver supports. For example, if I look at Chrome Driver 2.21 I see it supports Chrome version 46 to 50. Check that you are using Chrome version 46 to 50. If you are using say Chrome v52 then you'll have to update your Chrome Driver to version 2.22. I also note that version 2.21 of Chrome Driver was created on January 26, 2016. So I need to find a version of Selenium which was created around the same time.

Currently, if you go to http://selenium-release.storage.googleapis.com/index.html you will see the different versions of Selenium. If I look at version 2.50 I see that it was created on January 27, 2016. This is around the same time as Chrome Driver 2.21. Version 2.53 of Selenium was created around March 15, 2016. So I would either downgrade my Selenium to 2.50 or update my Chrome Driver to version 2.22. It depends on which versions of Chrome browser you are using.

If you make sure you have the right combination of Selenium, Chrome Driver, Chrome and things are still not working then you can start looking at your code and see what might be going wrong. Most the time, making sure all my technologies are the correct versions tends to solve things for me.
