I wrote a new HTML Element identification tool for the Selenium community which I call Looking Glass. It will auto generate xpath, css selectors and all other ids used by Selenium.
You can verify your own Selenium ids and you can even see if selenium is able to click HTML element without having to run your whole test case.
I wanted to create a tool which is useful for automation engineers that is also compatible across multiple browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE and Safari) and OS's (Win, Linux and OS X).

Please take a look and let me know of any issues or any features you'd like to see and check out this 4 minute video that gives a quick overview of it.

Hi Dmitri,
I watched your video and tried to play around with your tool. Can the jar file be integrated in my selenium project so I can identify elements on the run??Or rather can you let me know how can this library be used in webdriver project

Regards,
Sushama

Did you have a chance to play around with version 2.0?
Here is the video that should explain how you can use Looking Glass in your current project:

For now you can develop a code snippet, recording your steps, looking up elements etc.  After you are done you copy the snippet back to your code.
I'm currently working on version 3.0 which would allow you to have your whole selenium project in Looking Glass.  It will be a big update so it'd be some time before it's done, so stay tuned.

FYI, just wanted to mention that a while back, I came across a similar too (.NET based though). I've yet to review this tool. Great to have such new tools. The other tool is SWD Recorder and was first discussed here:
