Spaces and Custom Portal?

Hi All,

As Oracle said before launching 11.1.1.8 that there will be only once concept i.e. Portal. Do you think that debate of Spaces and Custom Portal has ended after 11.1.1.8 release? or It's just renamed of terms from Spaces to Portal Builder and Custom Portal to Framework Portal.

You are absolutely correct Imran this is just another renaming. If I have not forgotten I have asked during demo by Oracle and I got this answer , I am not implying it does not have more feature , But just new renaming as usual. Hasim

Anyway, in my opnion, seems like an another renaming, I'm still using framework application even for new projects. How about you?

The sad is that there's some new nice features at Portal Builder, like rendtion for mobile

Nelson , After demo I felt spaces (Builder) has lot of feature added especially for mobile plus you can now measure runtime performance of each GUI component on GUI itself.

In the .8 release most added functionality was in the Portal Builder. 

Features like mobile delivery are only for Portal Builder and aren't available on the framework.

Even though that 11.1.1.8 is just a rename from WebCenter Spaces to WebCenter Portal Builder, it just shows how much oracle want to emerge both paradigms into one, and I believe that the next versions will reveal it more and more!!!
