Hi

Is it possible to seek the movie to a particular position from a shell script or a C program? Or is there any command line options available?
thanks

It's not possible to control ws4gl from a script.  The main goal was
to create a user friendly guy so it would be easy to use.

But it would be easy to create a controller in java to provide such
functionality.  Remember that Studios are meant to pre-configure your
broadcasts such as timed layouts in the recent beta releases.

Seeking is not yet available in a layout, but can be done manually
using a slider.  That's something I was considering as when entering a
new layout, you could seek the entry point in a movie...  The duration
is already done by setting a duration on a layout, a bit like chapters
on a DVD...

Could you elaborate on what you are trying to achieve by using
scripts?

Thank you Patrick Balleux for replying. I was not considering studio as a means for pre-configured broadcast. I was wondering would it be possible to dynamically select the source/seek the position of the media from a program. Can you tell me how to write the controller? I have not done much java programs but I know C++ reasonably well, so may be I can give a try!
thanks again for replying

may be a simple suggestion is, in addition to the seek slider, can we enter the seek position as a number (similar to the other parameters in the layout) ?
