Hi
I've found a nice way to add timestamps in videos in a flexible and
easy way.
All you need is a piece of software called XnView (see
http://www.xnview.com
) - don't worry, it's free.
Go in XnView and under the menu "Tools" you will find "Batch
Processing" (or hit Ctrl + U)
In the window that pops up you can add a full folder (say you captured
images in c:\time_lapse - you can open it here). Further down, you
will see the option "Overwrite" - select "Replace" (by default, it is
"Ask" but you don't want it to ask you 10,000 times if tou want to
replace). Don't touch anything else on this tab, unless you know what
you're doing.
Then, go to the second tab, "Transformations". In the left tree view
select Image -> Add Text and click the "Add >" button. Select "Add
text" in the right list, and the options will appear in the lower
right corner. The options you want to select are:
* Parameters: Click the ">>" button and select EXIF - Camera -> Date
modified. In the field you should now have "<Date [Y-m-d_H-M-S]>" (you
can change the text in the square brackets to specify another format -
see the XnView Help on this).
* Text Colour: The colour the text will have
* Text back colour: If checked, a box will appear behind the text with
the selected colour. WARNING - the box is not translucent
* Font: The default "Courier, 10pt" is not very good, the text cannot
be read under compression - I would suggest Courier New, Bold with
14-16 pts size
* Position: Where you want the text to appear
* X,Y: If you want an offset to the selected position
Then hit "Go" And wait pantiently for it to process all the images.
After that, go back to flix and hit "Make Video". TA-DA!
