A probably trivial problem faced by Webconverger user: how to mount an
external drive (e.g. USB stick) to exchange data with the live
Webconverger session? - Useful for instance to attach a file to an
email, to save a file received by email, to download any file from the
web, or even to upload a file to a web-based archive...

Is there a simple way to do this (maybe it should be obvious and it is
stated somewhere, in which case I must have missed it - sorrry).

Many thanks for help/instructions/explainations.

I'm sorry, Webconverger does not have this feature currently.

It's one of the older feature requests on
http://webconverger.org/todo/ and I probably should have a go at
implementing it one day. I am a little worried it will open a can of
worms. For example users might expect the ability to download once
having the upload feature. Many deployments of Webconverger are on a
poor connection where downloading would disrupt other users.

If you know your way around a linux system, you could just hack your
install to do what you want by going into debug mode. I.e. removing
`nosudo` from the boot command line.

Kind regards,

I see. And of cours that's a developer's specific choice.

However - if I may comment - that ends up penalising common (probably
relatively inexperienced) users even in cases where traffic
limitations are not a concern. A way could be found to make the system
adaptable, couldn't it?

Anyway, I am sure you must have had deeper thinking than mine about
this issue, and it will be your prerogative to assign the priority and
the ranking you deem it may deserve among the couple of million of
other issues I guess you have to deal with.

Thanks for your answer, as usual.
