Webconverger resets even when on homepage

I have kioskresetstation set to 5 minutes and I have a homepage set. However, it seems that every once in a while the kiosk resets even though the browser is already at the homepage. Is this a known bug or is my setup somehow misconfigured? 

One possibly relevant detail I've noticed is that even though I have a homepage URL set using the API and the kiosk does load the homepage when it boots, the address bar is actually empty. Is that expected behavior?

That's expected. Firefox does that by default for some bizarre reason
and I've not made the effort to make it less surprisingly in that
regard.

My homepage does have a <title>, so I'm wondering why this would be happening. Any other possibilities?

Firstly thanks for reporting this issue. I see the problem.

For want of a better way, we use X org window properties to figure out
the page name:
https://github.com/Webconverger/webc/blob/master/usr/bin/kioskresetstation#L45

We save the first page name we see and then we compare it. If it's
changed of the time is elapsed, we kill X.

The bug is that for some reason Firefox is not reporting the page
title for the homepage any more.

I'm pretty sure it used to, so there is a regression somewhere. Just
filed a new bug https://github.com/Webconverger/webc/issues/134

A page name is seen when you navigate away from the homepage, so
kiosks do reset if you visit more than 1 page. This bug is on the top
of list to solve.

This is a funny bug indeed. Lucky I randomly tested with a kiosk at
http://hackerspace.sg/ which triggered this.

Does your title have a unicode character like &#8211; in it?

My <title> is alphanumeric; no unicode characters.

I have essentially the same problem.  No unicode characters in the title.  Just five capital letters.  I didn't consider it a bug, because I didn't realize that Webconverger made any attempt to see if the browser had been used before resetting, but it certainly would be nice to have it only reset if necessary.

Hi guys,

The latest build: http://build.webconverger.org/latest.iso

Should have this bug #134 fixed. I tried with the settings:

homepage=http://title.webconverger.com/cap.html
kioskresetstation=1

And it works. If it doesn't for you, could you please provide a test
case URL in which it does?
