Hard Drive standby

Hello,

Is there any way I could use the following command when booting from the Live CD?

sudo hdparm -Y /dev/sda1
http://crunchbanglinux.org/forums/post/11304/

I tried it with Crunchbang and it works fine.

I have a super noisy HD and I have to wait 30 minutes before it sleeps. It would be great if I could make it sleep immediately.
