Today, April 8th, 2014 is the last set of security patches for Windows XP Sp2 or SP3 computers.

Previously Microsoft stated that they were not going to support Security Essentials on XP computer after April 8th.

The real story is that if you don't already have Security Essentials installed, you won't be able to install it. If you already have Security Essentials installed Microsoft will continue to update the anti virus and anti malware patches on XP machines until July 14, 2015.

And it is a nag...

Anti virus or not, XP is going to be progressively more vulnerable on the Internet.

That doesn't mean that you can't continue to use your programs, games, or hobbies that are not dependent upon an Internet connection.
